Private Tutoring

How does it work?
Each student has a different need when it comes to private tutoring.  I work with students that only ask to meet before tests to review what they self-identified as their weaknesses.  I work with students who meet weekly to review (or in some cases preview) the content they are learning in class.  I also work with students who meet multiple times per week, as a replacement for class, because they are unable to attend.

Typically students provide samples of class work, problems they would like help solving, or a list of concepts they are struggling with.  I then explain the concept and how it connects to other topics in the course, provide additional examples, remind students of potential pitfalls, and provide strategies for avoiding common mistakes as necessary.  Unlike a typical class with other students, during private tutoring sessions we can speed up or slow down the pace of a session on the fly and pivot quickly if a student feels like the missing connections have been made.
Cost & Cancellation Policy
Online:  $50 for 50 minutes.
In-Person:  $70 for 60 minutes

Cash, Check, PayPal, Venmo.  Payment in advance to reserve a time slot.

If rescheduling or cancelling with at least 24 hour notice, payment will be credited to the next session.
Online Sessions
Join using Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, or similar.  All illustrations, problems, an notes are written using Microsoft OneNote and can be shared with student for viewing after the session.  Students are asked to send digital files or scans prior to the session to make more efficient use of time.

In-Person Sessions
It is best to meet at a location away from home with some white noise such as a coffee shop or cafe.  Work can be done on paper or a shared Microsoft OneNote notebook based on preference.  Students should bring course materials to the session.
